PSHE
Welcome to the Tenterden Infant Personal Social Health Education page
Through our PSHE lessons, we aim to start teaching the children the initial skills to allow them to manage their feelings and behaviour, keep themselves and others safe and develop citizenship skills, underpinned by our British Values.
We aim for them to understand theirs and other feelings both through verbal and non-verbal means.
The children are taught how to make positive choices when learning about health and wellbeing. We do this by learning about topics such as healthy diets, exercise, sun safety and personal hygiene.
We recognise that the children sometimes need help to recognise the effect of their behaviour and that of others so they learn in the class and playground cooperation and negotiation skills.
Our aim to keep our pupils safe when at school and we hope they can remain safe in the community. We do this through teaching topics such as road safety, stranger danger and use programmes such as the NSPCC Talk Pants campaign.
Our lessons are delivered through using different formats and resources and include story reading, role play, visits from outside agencies, circle time and presentations.
