Sea Urchins and Manatee Classes got an early ‘Experience’ of the first Christmas when welcomed to our Church at St. Mildred’s by the clergy and helpers from the congregation.

After an initial talk from the Outreach and Youth minister, Cris, the children were able to understand what it was like for Mary and Joseph to travel by donkey to Bethlehem by means of storytelling and moving the lovely Church crib figures along the map laid out for them. Others huddled under blankets imagining what it was like to be shepherds on the hillside before being told of Jesus’ birth.

As part of a carousel of activities they all made tree angels, cards and promises relating to Christmas.

Thanks to all at the church for putting this event on and we look forward to Year 6 ‘Experiencing Easter’.
