We celebrated World Book Week with lots of learning opportunities based around the book The Day The Crayons Quit by Drew Daywalt and illustrations by Oliver Jeffers. We marked World Book Day on Thursday 3rd March 2016 by dressing up as our favourite book characters, and the results were amazing. Also the children sat together and read some of their favourite books.
We were treated to a fantastic music assembly by Claire and the children who attend Music Club.
On Thursday 4th February we started our Chinese New Year celebrations with dance workshops for the Year 1 and Year 2 classes. These were run by Sin man Yue from Primary Workshops for schools. All the children were excited to get involved using Chinese fans and ribbons to move to the music. At the end of the day all of the Infant School came together to celebrate and watch some of the children perform. We were then wowed by Sin man Yue performing a traditional dance for us. It was declared “beautiful” by Daniel in Class 5.
Our first celebration assembly was a great success.
Tuesday 12th January found the KS1 children of Tenterden Infant School taking on the role of paleontologists and explorers.
See the Gallery for more pictures of the day.
Happy New Year to you all!

The Great Fire of London started on Sunday the 2nd of September 1666 in a baker’s shop on Pudding Lane.
The fire spread feasting upon the timber framed buildings cramped together, dancing from one thatched roof to the next.
Many of our childrens grandparents joined us for lunch.
