Linking in to Year 5 topic work ‘Black History’, today we looked at the art of Jean-Michel Basquiat. The children learnt about his childhood, style of drawing and life experiences and influences.They then followed a short video and created a Basquiat style portrait in their sketch books.
I was amazed by them all !
For several weeks I have been saving the paper that is used by several classes to protect the tables in art. Today the children selected an area of this paper each and cut it out to use as a background for their own Basquiat self portraits which they will create in our next lesson together.
Year 3 created Stonehenge sunsets.
The beginnings of our African sunset scenes - Miss Washer showed the class how to use water paints for the backgrounds.
The children have been learning all about Día de Muertos (Day of the Dead) festival!
We have introduced Times Tables Rockstars
Rhino class celebrated China for Multicultural Week.
The children getting to grips using their Magpie books, to help with their initial ideas.
We've had a great first day during Multi-Cultural week.
We achieved 97%attendance in both schools in Term 1! This is the best ever attendance achieved.
