PSHE
PSHE education helps our children to develop the knowledge, skills and understanding needed to manage many of the critical opportunities, challenges and responsibilities they may face in life.
PSHE is taught in a way that makes the topics relevant and real for our children. Some examples are through debate, discussion, visiting speakers and drama and role play.
Within the curriculum, children will learn the basic rules and skills for keeping themselves healthy and safe. They have opportunities to show they can take responsibility for themselves and their environment whilst being mindful of their own and other people's feelings, views, needs and the rights of other children and older people. They will develop their sense of social justice and moral responsibility and begin to understand that their own choices and behaviour can affect local, national and global issues. They learn how to take part more fully in school and community activities.
Through a broad and balanced PSHE curriculum, pupils at Tenterden Cof EJunior School are prepared to lead confident, healthy, independent lives and to become informed, active and responsible citizens.
